THE CLIN D’AILES MUSEUM
Longtime project of the Cinquième Escadrille and Espace Passion: the Payerne Military Aviation Museum, under the name “Clin d’Ailes” is open to to the eyes, minds and hearts of its visitors.
Some will come as curious, interested to know what is hidden inside this elegant building made of concrete, metal and glass. Others will come to learn about the design and engagement of the beautiful machines on display. All will be affected by the elegance and race of these planes, by the force that emerges from their shapes, and this is especially true for the Hunter and Mirage, superb products of the evolution of military jet aerodynamics between the 1950s and 1960s, symbols of the transition from subsonic (or just supersonic, with a little will) as quickly as sound…
But Clin d’Ailes is also a meeting place, a place to learn, an attractive setting for meetings, conferences, forums, exchange of ideas, sharing of images and emotions. Clin d’Ailes is not a Museum in the usual sense of the word, but a place that lives, shines and inspires.
Connected to our country’s most active air base, it is a bridge between our air forces and the public, a place of transition between the past and the future. It is the expression of the values in which its creators have always believed very strongly: Passion, but also rigor, discipline, responsibility, and the very strong friendship that binds us. It is important to us to share these values with the visitors of the Museum.
The dream continues – thank you for visiting !
