HISTORY
The U-1271 aircraft was initially used in the Finnish Air Force as a training aircraft and was registered as HW-310. It was painted in the typical camouflage colours, used in Finland since the 1970s, and painted grey in the 1990s. The aircraft made its first flight on December 7, 1981 and served at Lapland Air Command, the Air Force Academy and Satakunta Air Command. He had accumulated a total of 5,015 flight hours.
In 2009, it was retired from service and returned to the Clin d’Ailes Museum in 2018. It was transported to Switzerland by truck, painted in Swiss colours and cockades and coated with a fictitious U-1271 registration.
